An Enchanted Forest?

Imagination is a wonderful thing. I see a rough path through an enchanted forest. Pixies, fairies and unicorns travel this way. The canopy of branches overhead and the shadows all around provide lots of nooks and crannies to hide if one needs to disappear.

The reality is far from the imaginary. Its a low spot in a cow pasture near a culvert that goes under the county road. Mosquitos and butterflies are the closest thing to pixies and fairies here, and black angus cows are the local unicorns. Just a cluster of trees with lots of deadfall on the ground. The shadows give it an air of mystery and I decided to stop.

It was a slightly overcast day, sporadic sun peeking out every now and then, that helped with the different look of these pictures. I admit to playing with the it in post editing, adjusting exposure and cropping. Doing so can change and/or enhance so much about how a picture looks.

Changing from landscape to portrait gives it a third, completely different look. This third picture is my favorite of this trio. I feel it has more detail, its more crisp, and you can see the texture more clearly. It speaks to me. I want to go sit under one of these trees and spend the afternoon listening to the birds sing, and the trees sigh while gently swaying to the breeze.
