I can’t remember what I was walking outside to do, but things have a tendency of catching my eye. Great peripheral vision I suppose. This frigid winter evening I stepped out the back door to complete some chore, and the shadows the solar lights cast on the day old, glittery snow did just that, it caught my eye. I glanced back, saw the dusky purple sky, all the neighborhood lights. Perfect.

Purplish sky, soft light, sparkling snow!

Silhouettes and shadows. It was so quiet out. Sometimes I really need that. Just. Quiet. <sigh> I gazed at the lights and took a few deep breaths to center myself and appreciate the gift.

Not the best pictures, just had the trusty Samsung Galaxy Note 9 with me at the time, but it captured the moment well enough.

Standing up, I took a couple more pictures looking down on the lights to get the shadows that initially caught my eye.

Even the “not so great” pictures, are great pictures, when you are trying to capture that special moment in time. Take a moment to stop and enjoy the beauty of the things that catch your eye. Sometimes its nature, sometimes man made, sometimes its the quiet…
